PRESS RELEASE — The Economic Club of Tampa Florida Economic Forum May 21 benefits Hillsborough Education Foundation; Event features leaders from Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning


TAMPA – The Economic Club of Tampa announces that its annual Spring Florida Economic Forum at The Armature Works May 21 will highlight the Business of Tampa Bay Professional Sports, featuring representatives of the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning.

Funds raised by The Economic Club of Tampa and the event sponsors are matched by the State of Florida through the Take Stock in Children program administered through the Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF).

The Florida Economic Forum 2018 goal is to fund six, two-year prepaid college scholarships for qualifying Hillsborough County school students.

Matt Silverman, President of the Tampa Bay Rays; Brian Ford, Chief Operating Officer of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a representative to be named from the Tampa Bay Lightning will be on the panel.

Event moderator will be Sandy Murman, Hillsborough County Commission Chair. The Economic Leader of the Year Award recipient will be announced during the event.

The Spring Florida Economic Forum will be Monday, May 21, from 11:30-1 p.m. at The Armature Works, 1910 N.Ola Ave., Tampa, Fl 33602.

Reaching this goal will bring the total scholarships funded by the club to 24.
